CEO and Co-Founder
Prior to founding Kira Systems, Noah practiced at the law firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges in New York, where he focused on private equity, M&A, and securities. Noah is an expert on contract analysis, legal technology, and artificial intelligence; has spoken at conferences including SXSW Interactive, ILTACON, and ReInvent Law; and was named 2016 ILTA Innovative Thought Leader of the Year. Noah holds a J.D. from the NYU School of Law, an A.M. from Brown University, and a B.A. with honours from McGill University.
Dr. Alexander Hudek
CTO and Co-Founder
Alex leads Kira Systems’ research and development. He holds Ph.D and M.Math degrees in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, and a B.Sc. from the University of Toronto in Physics and Computer Science. His past research in the field of bioinformatics focused on finding similarities between DNA sequences. He was heavily involved with the human genome project. He has also worked in the areas of proof systems and database query compilation.
Chief Commercial Officer
Steve leads marketing, business development and sales. Prior to joining Kira Systems, Steve was general manager of Thomson Reuters’ business law solutions division. Previously, Steve practiced law at Morrison & Foerster and WilmerHale, with a focus on technology transactions, telecoms and e-commerce. He holds a J.D. from the UCLA School of Law, an M.A. with distinction in International Economics from Johns Hopkins SAIS, and an A.B. from Brown University.
Winter is passionate about designing products and interactions that make people work smarter, more efficiently and delightfully. She holds a B.Sc. in Actuarial Science and Economics from University of Toronto, and subsequently dived into web development and design. Now she mentors in these areas to share her knowledge and passion with others. Her past exeprience includes designing and illustrating for publications and websites, and product management in a leading currency data company.
Head of System Learning
Jennifer manages a team of lawyers and other professionals who create Kira’s built-in machine learning models. She was previously Director of Due Diligence at Elevate Services, where she managed large-scale contract abstraction projects. Prior to that, she practiced at the law firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges in New York, in M&A, private equity, securities compliance, and corporate governance. Jennifer received her J.D., cum laude, from the SUNY at Buffalo Law School, and has a B.S. from Cornell University.
Dr. Joey Coleman
Head of Systems
Joey is responsible for systems administration, security, deployment and technical implementation operations. Joey holds an M.Phil. and a Ph.D. from Newcastle University, and a B.Sc. from Ryerson University in Toronto, all in Computer Science. Joey’s research efforts are related to concurrency and programming language semantics. In nearly all his roles, Joey focuses on process improvement, often taking on systems administration roles to re-engineer build and release systems.
Head of Software Development
Jeff leads Kira Systems’ software development team. He is responsible for the delivery of high quality code and the day-to-day well-being of the development team. An expert in web technologies and large-scale systems, Jeff brings over twenty years of industry experience to Kira. When not on the job you might find him experimenting with programming languages, sketching, or just hanging out at the park with his kids.
Manager, M&A and General Commercial Content
Anne manages a team of lawyers and other professionals who create Kira’s built-in machine learning models. She previously practiced M&A and securities law at Goodmans LLP in Toronto. Anne holds a J.D. from Osgoode Hall Law School where she graduated in the top 2% of her class, a B.Soc.Sc. from the University of Ottawa (magna cum laude) and a B.Com from McGill University. In her spare time, Anne enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, son and two dogs.
Deen leads the operations team and is responsible for managing HR, back office and customer facing operations. With over 10 years of operations management experience, Deen most recently managed the online security and customer support operations for one of the world's largest interactive gaming websites for children. In his spare time, Deen is an avid fan of carpentry and can be found in his workshop, making furniture out of reclaimed wood, or refinishing vintage and antique pieces.
Robin coordinates prioritization of Kira's new features, enhancements, and integrations and works with Kira Systems' technical teams to bring these changes into the product. He acts as an advocate for the customer throughout this process to help ensure that Kira continues to tackle problems that customers care about. Previously, Robin worked at Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP in Toronto. Robin holds a J.D. from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law and a B.A. with honours from Queen's University.
Director, Global Accounts
Kennan is responsible for helping global law firms and other organizations evaluate Kira, and leads the company’s global sales and retention programs. Previously, Kennan was an Account Executive at Practical Law where he was awarded Law Firm Account Executive of the Year and President's Club. Outside of work, Kennan is an avid traveler, reader and outdoor enthusiast; you will also find him on the football (soccer) pitch or at kickboxing training.
Director, Global Accounts
Tony assists global law firms and other organizations in their evaluation of Kira, and plays a key role in leading the company’s global sales and retention programs. Prior to joining Kira Systems, Tony held positions as a Senior Account Executive at Practical Law and Intelligize, where he developed new business and relationships with major international law firms. Outside of work, Tony enjoys spending time with his 2 children, hiking, running and reading.
Paul assists top AmLaw firms and other professional services organizations evaluate Kira and its unique benefits, and plays a key role in supporting the company’s sales and retention programs. Prior to joining Kira Systems, Paul served as the Director of Professional Markets at Intelligize, Inc. where he managed the company’s law firm, tax/accounting firm and consulting firm division. Outside of work, Paul enjoys running, traveling, and spending time with his family (including his 2 young children).
Rob focuses on assisting global law firms and other organizations evaluate Kira and its unique benefits, and plays a key role in supporting the company's global sales and retention programs. Prior to joining Kira Systems, Rob was with Practical Law for almost 8 years as a Sales Executive. In his role there he worked with large law firms to help them increase workflow efficiency and streamline knowledge efforts. Outside of work, Rob spends time with his wife and 2 children, and enjoys surfing and other beach related activities.
Customer Success Manager
Anita manages implementation and continued engagement for Kira Systems’ customers. Prior to joining Kira Systems, Anita was a Director of Electronic Services with an eDiscovery Services Provider in New York. Anita is originally from Brisbane, Australia where she practiced as a criminal defense lawyer for 8 years before moving to London, where she worked as a review attorney. She holds an LLM, Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Journalism. In her spare time she enjoys seeing the world.
Customer Success Manager
Romuz manages implementation and continued engagement for Kira Systems’ customers. He has over 10 years prior experience in account management, most recently at Mlex, a provider of predictive regulatory analysis, where he specialised in engagement strategies and managed a portfolio of technology industry corporations and international advisory firms. In his spare time he enjoys keeping fit, finding new restaurants, travelling and keeping up to date with consumer technology.
Business Development Associate
Andrew is responsible for corporate business development and partnerships. In a previous life, Andrew worked as a Management Consultant for Deloitte Consulting in the UK. Andrew is also a qualified Management Accountant and Engineering Master’s graduate, graduating from The University of Southampton in 2011. Outside of work, Andrew can typically be found practicing Spanish, keeping fit or planning his next ski trip.
Client Service Team Lead
Kim plays a key role in ensuring exceptional client support. Graduating from University of Toronto with an Honours B.Sc. in Biological Science and Anthropology, Kim’s educational background gives her a unique perspective on human relations that allows her to work on diverse teams, including leading the client support and QA teams. She is always looking for ways to learn new things and enjoys incorporating new technologies into her life.
Technical and Business Team
Our technical team members hold multiple advanced computer science degrees, have decades of combined programming experience, and are experienced in machine learning and advanced logic systems. They are versed in the latest user experience design, and yet also experienced in building robust and secure enterprise software systems, having joined us from organizations like MIT, TNT (UK), and Microsoft.
Our business team is comprised of experienced professionals in product, support, marketing & sales, and legal. Our lawyer-experts have practiced at some of the world's most prestigious law firms, such as Skadden, Weil Gotshal, and Reed Smith, and law departments of multinationals like IPG. Our customer-facing teams have many years of experience with enterprise customers in their prior roles at companies like IBM, CT Corp, Ansible and Thomson Reuters.

Jeroen was CEO of Practical Law Company’s US operations from its launch in 2008 through to its sale to Thomson Reuters in 2013, at which time it had over 200 employees and nearly 1000 customers. Prior to PLC, Jeroen practiced at the law firm Clifford Chance, with a focus on mergers and acquisitions.
